WVL - RPT Solar Powered Repeater
The Repeater is designed for outdoor, solar-powered installation. It relays LoRa signals between Hunter wireless devices to extend wireless range and overcome obstacles to line-of-sight (LOS) communications. The Repeater includes a built-in solar panel, a rechargeable LiFePO (lithium iron phosphate) battery, and a universal mounting bracket. (Additional mounting hardware may be required; for example, stainless steel band clamps for pole mounting.) It does not require an external power supply, and there is no external wiring of any kind. With the Solar Powered Repeater, you can add valves up to 4,000' with direct line-of-sight.
IMPORTANT:There is a maximum of one Repeater allowed per controller in the Wireless Valve Link system.
Key Features and Benefits:
- Extends Wireless Range: Eliminate communication dead spots and ensure reliable control of your wireless valves across larger properties or areas with obstructions. The repeater can effectively double the line-of-sight range of your WVL system.
- Solar Powered with Battery Backup: Enjoy continuous, maintenance-free operation thanks to the integrated solar panel that charges the internal battery. This eliminates the need for external wiring or frequent battery replacements.
- Works with Hunter WVL System: Specifically designed as an accessory for the Hunter Wireless Valve Link (WVL) system, ensuring seamless integration and reliable performance.
- Compatible with Hunter Controllers: Fully compatible with Hunter ICC2 and HCC Controllers, as well as the Centralus™ and Hydrawise® irrigation management platforms.
- LoRa Wireless Technology: Utilizes robust 433 MHz LoRa radio frequency (Australia only) for reliable two-way communication.
- Weatherproof Design: Built to withstand the elements with an IP55 outdoor rating, ensuring durability and reliable operation in various weather conditions.
- Easy to Install: Simple to integrate into your existing WVL system to enhance its coverage.
- Overcomes Obstacles: Ideal for properties where physical barriers or distance might limit the range of a standard wireless system.
The Repeater should be placed in a sunny, outdoor location with the solar panel positioned to receive maximum sunlight.
It communicates directly between the Wireless Valve Output Module in the controller and the linked devices in the field.
The Repeater is most effective when it's at the highest practical elevation, with a reasonably clear line of sight to the controller and the devices to be connected. Not all devices necessarily use the Repeater; if they can hear the controller directly, they will use that. Only the more distant devices will choose to use the Repeater.
The antenna can be rotated and should be positioned as close to vertical as possible. The detent on the antenna is used to set the solar panel angle. When the antenna is positioned vertically, either up or down, the solar panel is at the optimum angle.
